Constable Thomas Clarke found not guilty of the murder of Fergus Cunningham by shooting him in the face with a pistol. Cunningham had been described by Sir John Jamieson as a remarkably good man who was allowed indulgences allowed by no other men on Jamieson's estate. He had maintained a peaceable quiet sober man.
